Hello mr. Badchess. I hope that you'll appreciate the feedback i'm about to give you!
This is from my point of view and all opinions may vary as photography's got no definite rules. However, I try to view it with an objective eye!

First and foremost, the sharpness in the front is really striking, because it's very sharp! Well done.

The subject is a fungi as noted by the title. It is however fairly hard to tell that it's a mushroom and not a slimy worm creature or something else. This leaves people wondering and guessing and that's certainly a good thing! I think a sense of mystery's always effective at drawing people into your photograph.

The details and lighting create the illusion of depth. It adds to your photograph's appeal!

Now as far as the composition goes, I think it'd definitely improve if you crop the left side as it's mostly empty. By doing so, your mushroom will leave the center of the photo improving the placement of the fungi. It's a more compelling location in the top right, in my opinion. The bokeh's definitely pleasant, but you've got to decide what the absolute strong points are and make the rest revolve around it. As I said, the bokeh's nice, but it's distracting the attention away from the mushroom.

Another thing to note is that the wood in the bottom left doesn't have to be all sharp. Make the fungi the point of focus, and have some blur around it. The overlapping pieces of wood with raindrops look splendid the way they are however.

Furthermore, the colours of the mushroom are very bright and vibrant! It gives the photo an edge! The colours are interesting!
Moreover, the strong orange isn't being obstructed by the colours in the background making your subject stand out.

All in all, there are some points that I feel like could be adjusted slightly to make it even better, such as the fungi placement.
However, the overall picture's solid and quite pleasant to look at. It's got lots of strong points going for it such as the vibrant colours, details and mystique.

So well done, and I wish you luck (to stumble upon gorgeous pieces of nature) and fun on your future photography endeavors.
